A single Google account (the one linked to your Gmail) can manage up to 100 YouTube channels through the Brand Account feature.
You can be the Owner or Primary Owner of all 100 channels.
The primary channel created when you first make your Google account is considered your personal YouTube account and cannot have other owners/managers.

When a YouTube channel is linked to a Brand Account, you can assign different levels of access to other Google accounts, including:
Primary Owner: The highest level of control; there can only be one primary owner. They can delete the channel and manage other owners/managers.
Owner: Has full control, similar to the Primary Owner, including adding and removing managers, but may have limitations on certain Brand Account actions like transferring the channel (which only the Primary Owner can do in some cases).
The Google account you use to create these Brand Accounts will typically be the first Primary Owner. You can then transfer the Primary Owner role to another Google account if needed, which is a major benefit of using Brand Accounts for collaboration or security.
⚠️ Important Security Note
While you can manage many channels under one Google account, a strike or termination on one channel could potentially affect all other channels associated with that same Google account.
